Post-war Renovations
Renovating one of Brisbane's distinctive post-war homes can often be a challenge. With smaller rooms and fewer character features due to post-war restrictions, there is generally a point at which it is more economical to demolish and re-build.

Planning Approvals
The Brisbane city Town Plan has a number of Planning Overlays which determine if a project will be subject to planning approval on top of the basic Building Approval required for any building or renovation project. If your home is located within one of Brisbane's older character suburbs, it may be within the Traditional Building Character Overlay. If so, there may be limitations on demolition and any new work may require Town Planning Approval. We can advise you on the Planning Overlays that apply to your property and how they will impact your project. We can also advise on simple strategies to avoid the need for this extra level of approval. If necessary, we have the skill & experience to prepare & lodge Town Planning Applications for domestic projects where necessary.
